Only in Taiwan

I'm going to stay in Taiwan until May... I guess I will experience enough new stuff for more comics like this one.

"Wo Yao NaGe" (I want that. 我要那个.) is really a golden sentence for all kinds of foreigners.

Great stuff!

I'm a coffee guy myself so I can't blame them for preferring it over tea.

just out of curiosity, do you stay at a hostel? I'm pretty sure it's rather expensive to stay for months even in a hostel. I'm also thinking of going to Taiwan so I want to know where I can stay for a reasonable price for several months

Actually a lot of these things are also common in places like Macau and Hong Kong.

La mayoría de estas cosas también pasan en Japón (viví en Tokyo 3 años, y fue una experiencia rarísima)

I completely understand you! I lived in Japan a year, and 7/11 were one of the best things!, I miss them a lot. Plus the art supply store are great, even if don't need anything, you just go and want to but everything!!!

i was born in taiwan and lived there for almost 12 years before i moved to the US. I agree with all your observations and drawings. Nice job! Im looking forward to reading more of ur comics.

U're SO right about those things... I grew up in Taiwan but have been living in the States for over 10 years... everytime I go back to visit Taiwan I realized those things...

Starbucks = fashion statement ...
girls wearing tons of makeup and colored contact lenses
I did however experienced teenagers sync dancing outside MEMORIALS not MRT(which I found disrespectful)

and all other things!!!

The fast food studying, annoying announcement in small shops, movie/games on cellphone and karaoke does happen in Singapore.

yyyyes this is SO ACCURATE!! i love it. as someone who taught english in taoyuan for a year, i can fully appreciate all of those things. so glad the trash trucks made the list.
i hope you go to ching xin tea shop every day and get lu cha, ban tang, yi dian dian bing kuai. green tea, half sugar, a little ice.

and have you had tsong dra bing yet from a street cart? dan bing?

As i think the guy said above in some other language, most of this is right out of the Japan Play book.

I think it was said in a post in another language but Taiwan seems to have taken a page from Japan's play book.

If you really like tea, I recommend going to Maokong when you are free. You can go there just by taking the Maokong Gondola. You can have tea while viewing beautiful scenes, and there are some tea-related dishes, like tea chicken soup, tea shrimps, tea rice, etc. If you want to have a try, i would recommend this to you. Enjoy Taiwan! http://www.xn--eut985eupp.tw/catalog.php?id=5

Good thing you're only staying until May, the summer heat + mosquitoes are killer.

One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention is the traffic and ridiculous quantity of mopeds EVERYWHERE.

Love the place though, the food is the BEST. And bubble tea <3

Yo vivo en un país tercer mundista y me encantaría comenzar a viajar, a vivir en cualquier lugar menos aquí.
